Divine Fits Cover Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Hungry Heart’
Spoon’s Britt Daniel and Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner formed Divine Fits to be more than just a side project, but the band still cuts loose with the freedom of an offshoot. Along the way, they’ve built up quite a repertoire of covers: Frank Ocean, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones, Nick Cave and now Bruce Springsteen. Divine Fits stopped by Australia’s Triple J show to contribute to the radio station’s “Like a Version” cover series, taking on Springsteen’s 1980 single “Hungry Heart.”

Daniel said he hasn’t seen Springsteen live recently, but gave the Jersey rocker praise. “He is amazing, great performer,” says Daniel said. “It was at least three hours.” Divine Fits then dive right into an acoustic cover of “Hungry Heart,” stripping it down with textbook percussion (literally) and Daniel’s throaty vocals.
