Diplo and Skrillex Drop Jack U Remix of Beyonce’s ‘7/11’

Diplo and Skrillex will unleash their collaborative Jack Ü on New York’s Madison Square Garden this New Year’s Eve, and to celebrate, the dance duo have unveiled their remix for Beyoncé’s Beyoncé: Platinum Edition single “7/11.”
The pair doesn’t deviate too far from the original Detail production – Beyoncé’s vocal track stays largely intact – but Jack Ü coat the track with more frantic beats, deeper drops and cowbell. Diplo and Skrillex posted the remix on their new official website, adding some legitimacy to a side project the pair were just toying with until revving up activity recently.
After first performing together as Jack Ü at the Mad Decent Block Party in San Diego in September 2013, the side project stayed dormant before reuniting March 2014 at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. A series of live performances followed throughout the year, including a notable gig at Burning Man. Diplo and Skrillex hinted at dropping a mixtape this past summer, and while that release never arrived, the pair did share their joint single “Take Ü There” featuring Kiesza in September.
The duo also premiered a handful of new tracks during a guest DJ spot for BBC Radio 1Xtra, including cuts called “Jungle Bae,” “Cumbia Maluca,” “Beats Steady Knockin” and “Febreze” featuring 2 Chainz. On December 23rd, Jack Ü uploaded their first official release, a collection of seven “Take Ü There” remixes, including a rework by Zeds Dead.
Diplo and Skrillex, performing both solo and as Jack Ü, will be joined at New Year’s Eve bash by A$AP Ferg, Rudimental and Yellowclaw. The concert will be broadcast live on Sirius XM’s BPM channel and streamed via Live Media Group and Live Nation.
