U2 Could Have New Album Out in May
According to the German version of Amazon, U2’s next record is scheduled for release on May 27. No official announcements have been made, but this date makes sense at least in that the group has been at work on new material for some time and it matches up with their tour plans for 2011. [Paste]

Gucci Mane Collaborates With U.K. Producers
Gucci Mane has released a new mixtape focused on collaborations with British producers titled The Burrrtish Edition. The set includes remixes by Sinden, Toddla T, These New Puritans and Rustie, plus guest appearances by Nicki Minaj, Estelle and Swizz Beatz. [Teenage Spaceship]

Miranda Lambert Up For Seven ACM Awards
Miranda Lambert led the nominations for this year’s Academy of County Music Awards with seven nods including Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band are tied for the second highest number of nominations with five each. The ceremony will be held on April 3rd. [Reuters]

Avett Brothers Are Working On New Album With Rick Rubin
The Avett Brothers have begun work on the follow-up to 2009’s I and Love and You with producer Rick Rubin. According to band leader Scott Avett, the band will be editing the record down from over two dozen songs penned for the album. [Billboard]
