Rapper and producer Pharrell Williams teamed up with Domeau & Pérès to design a custom fixed gear bicycle – made out of water buffalo leather – that will sell for more than $27,000 at the Gagosian Gallery in New York. An Actors’ Equity audition notice has all but confirmed that Green Day‘s punk rock musical American Idiot will be going on tour sometime at the end of the year. As of yet, no casting or dates have been announced. [Broadway World]
Miley Cyrus Will Host ‘SNL,’ Strokes May Be Musical Guest
Miley Cyrus has been announced as the host of the March 5th episode of Saturday Night Live. Cast member Vanessa Bayer has been impersonating Cyrus on the show throughout the current season, so odds are pretty good that Bayer’s Miley will appear in a sketch along with the real deal. The Strokes‘ Julian Casablancas strongly implied that his band will be the musical guest in a tweet earlier this afternoon. [TV Line]
Canadian Radio Station Bans Carrie Underwood
Ottawa, Ontario pop station CISS has pulled all of Carrie Underwood’s hits from their playlist after her husband, hockey star Mike Fisher, was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators. The station says it has no plans to bring her songs back to the station after the city stops feeling sad about Fisher’s departure. [Billboard]
