American Idiot’ Ticket Sales Plummet
Ticket sales for the Broadway production of American Idiot have dropped off significantly since Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong left the cast at the end of February. Box office grosses for the show dropped from $1.3 million during the final week with Armstrong to $395,275 for last week’s eight performances. All of the shows on Broadway saw some sales decline in the past week, but no drop-off was as severe as American Idiot‘s. [NY Times]

Ke$ha, John Mellencamp to Play Beale St. Music Festival
John Mellencamp, Ke$ha, Stone Temple Pilots, Wilco and the Flaming Lips have been announced as performers at the Beale St. Music Festival in Memphis on April 29th-May 2nd. The event will also include sets by Mumford & Sons, Cee Lo Green, Jason Mraz, Jerry Lee Lewis, Cake and the New Pornographers. [Paste]

Spiritualized Prepare New Album For Fat Possum
Spiritualized have announced that they are working on their seventh album, which will be released by their new label Fat Possum. The unfinished record is scheduled for release sometime in the fall. [Pitchfork]

Béla Fleck and the Flecktones Return With New Album
Béla Fleck and the Flecktones will release Rocket Science, the band’s first album with its original line-up since 1991, on May 17th. The band will tour  in support of the record in late May through the end of June. [Press release]
