A couple of months ago, Devo stunned even their most passionate fans when they announced a 10-city tour focusing exclusively on material cut between 1974 and 1977 in basements around their native Akron. This tour marked both their first time playing the majority of these songs in nearly four decades and their first ever concerts without founding guitarist Bob Casale, who died very suddenly in February.

Cameras were rolling when they played the Fox Theater in Oakland, California on June 28th, and recordings from the show will soon be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, CD and LP. Fans that pre-order the set through PledgeMusic will have exclusive access to select tracks, video, audio and much more. Other offerings include a signed set list ($75), a signed CD and T-shirt ($50), your name in the credit roll and a signed DVD ($250) and signed double vinyl ($50).

Bob Casale passed away without life insurance or even a will, leaving his family in severe financial jeopardy. “It was a horrific shock and an explosion in the Devo universe,” his brother and Devo bandmate Jerry Casale told Rolling Stone. “For a month or so, nobody talked about anything. But then we realized we can still do [the tour] and make it a memorial to Bob and raise money for his family.” A portion of the money made on the recordings will go to his family as well.

Future plans for Devo are unclear at the moment. They were slated to open up for Arcade Fire in Mountain View, California on July 30th, but they were forced to pull out when frontman Mark Mothersbaugh injured himself in a “kayaking incident.” As of now, they are still scheduled to open for Arcade Fire at Chicago’s United Center on August 26th and August 27th.
