Despite Injuries, ‘Spider-Man’ Musical is a Box Office Hit

Despite delays, cancellations, injuries and cast departures, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is turning out to be a box-office hit: The superhero musical has been playing to sold-out crowds in the past week.

The troubled production grossed $944,138 for four shows in the week ending December 26. Though that figure does not include the two canceled performances, it is not adjusted to take into account refunds for the December 20 show, which was stopped early following the injury of actor Christopher Tierney.
