Derek Trucks On Freddie King’s limitless energy
Guitarist Derek Trucks says he would have jumped at the chance just to guitar-tech for the late blues legend Freddie King’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Instead, he got to join Joe Bonamassa and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons onstage for two King songs, “Hideaway” and “Going Down.” Said Trucks, “Freddie is truly one of the all-time greats. He’s just one of those guys who seemed to be able to summon this limitless energy. When it was time to go, he just had another gear that most people just do not have.”
