Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox Hospitalized After Atlanta Car Accident

Deerhunter singer Bradford Cox was hospitalized Thursday after being involved in a car accident. On Cox’s Instagram, the singer posted a photo of himself wearing a neck brace with the caption “was hit by car.” He also tagged the location of the photo as the Marcus Trauma Center at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. No other information regarding the accident or Cox’s condition has been released.
Cox also posted a photo of his father sleeping next to his son’s hospital bed. “Still waiting for X-ray results or any real diagnoses. Can’t move much. Incredible pain. Thank The Lord God I am here and my dad is here with me,” Cox wrote in the caption (via Stereogum).
2014 was an unusually quiet year for Cox, as the prolific singer didn’t release an album with either Deerhunter or his solo project Atlas Sound. The former last released Monomania in May 2013. The singer also made his big screen acting debut last year in the Oscar-nominated film Dallas Buyers Club.
