David Lynch ‘Crazy Clown Time’
Director David Lynch, who recently released his first-full length solo album, Crazy Clown Time, has just released the video for the title track. Lynch, whose last feature-length film was Inland Empire in 2006, directed the video himself.
In keeping with Lynch’s signature style, the seven-minute-plus “Crazy Clown Time” video is a pastiche of disturbing images from a backyard party. A man sets his mohawk on fire, and a woman dances topless, oblivious to the rest of the party. Lynch himself watches the action from a table in the corner, pounding his fists and singing.
Though Lynch has collaborated with musicians such as Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse in the past, he stepped out on his own for Crazy Clown Time. Since Inland Empire, he has directed several short films for festivals.
