Dan Black and Kelis Follow Their ‘Hearts’ (Kaskade and R3hab Remix) – Song Premiere

British musician-producer Dan Black recently teamed up with Kelis in southern Spain to create his sultry new single, “Hearts.” It was a labor of love for both. “Originally, we wrote it for her,” Black tells Rolling Stone. “But it felt more ‘me’ to me, so I nervously asked her if I could use it and luckily, she kindly agreed.”

The music video for the single is unmistakably Parisian, as it features the London-born “wonky pop” scenester Black in a 24-hour time lapse on a Paris rooftop (with the Eiffel Tower in view, of course). It’s a perfect setting for the duo’s upbeat, pining chorus that goes, “‘Cause the heart, it never sleeps.”
“Hearts” will appear on Black’s second album, out later this year. In the meantime, check out the track’s infectious and electro remix by Kaskade and R3hab below.
