Courtney Love Exits Rehab

Rocker must submit to random drug testing

A Los Angeles judged ruled Friday that rocker Courtney Love, 41, can enroll in an outpatient drug program, after previously being sentenced to six months of rehab as a result of violating her probation earlier this year.

Superior Court Judge Rand S. Rubin said the singer — who has been at an inpatient drug treatment facility since September — must submit to random drug and alcohol checks twice per week, abide by a 10 p.m. curfew, avoid businesses that primarily sell alcohol and must continue therapy. In addition, the judge extended her probation to March 2007, and said Love is not to leave her home except for medical, probational, child or work related purposes.

“I’m really pleased with the reports,” Rubin told her Friday. “I certainly hope you keep up the good progress. You’re definitely going in the right direction.”

Rubin previously sentenced Love to 180 days in the county jail after violating probation in three cases, including two drug-related charges, but said the singer could serve the sentence at an in-house rehabilitation program.

Love’s next hearing is scheduled for January
