Cleveland Rocks on Dance Floor-Ready ‘Good Time’ – Song Premiere
A “Good Time” can be had at the intersection of the modern Cleveland party scenes. On the track, which features Cleveland residents E-V, Lorine Chia and Machine Gun Kelly, the dance, R&B and hip-hop worlds merge into a song about the joy of youthful recklessness.

E-V, who earned his stripes in the Cleveland hip-hop/dance music scene by releasing a string of popular mixtapes and DJing for Mike Posner, supplies a dance-floor-ready backdrop: an echoing beat pounds away while sparkling keyboard chords mimic anthemic rock riffs. Cameroon-born Lorine Chia, who released a haunting take on Billie Holiday‘s “Strange Fruit” last year, is in full dance-diva mode, using her fabulously rich vocals to salute revelry and demand that the party last all night. After E-V zips the beat into overdrive, rising rapper Machine Gun Kelly appears and, in pure MGK style, drops a seemingly non-sequitur verse that might have some wisdom: “I’m trying to change the world with one drink, muthafucka!”
Chia tells Rolling Stone the song’s significance for the trio: “It’s been a long journey, and I love the sweet memories that we have forever to hold. We kept to the grind, we made it shine, and now it’s time to have a good time.” Meanwhile, Machine Gun Kelly provides a more pragmatic analysis of the song’s significance: “Two people is ‘eh.’ Three people is just a party. But three people from Cleveland is a damn good time!”
