Chubby Checker Sues Over Penis-Size App

Here’s a twist: Chubby Checker is suing HP over a novelty app bearing his name that allows users to guess someone’s penis size, NBC reports. And size does matter: the singer – real name Ernest Evans – wants $500 million from the technology company, according to a lawsuit filed this week in a federal court in Florida. Willie Gary, an attorney for Evans, cited “irreparable damage” to his client’s reputation and legacy.

The “Chubby Checker” allowed users to enter a man’s foot size for an estimation of his endowment. The app was originally available for 99 cents on the Palm OS, which was ditched in 2009 for the upgraded Palm WebOS. HP acquired Palm in 2010, and distanced themselves from the app in a statement. “The application was not created by HP or Palm,” said HP. “It was removed in September 2012 and is no longer on any Palm or HP hosted web site.”

Checker is best known for his version of “The Twist,” which was a Number One hit in 1960 and again in 1962. The app bearing his name was less popular: the “Chubby Checker” was only downloaded 84 times, according to Palm archival site House of Palm.
