Chris Brown Releases ‘Fine China’ Single, Says He and Rihanna Are ‘Fine’

‘I can’t make everybody like me,’ singer says

Chris Brown offers a taste of his new album X, due later this year, with a new video for first single “Fine China.” In the clip, Brown faces an age-old cultural conflict when the stern Asian father of the woman he loves forbids their relationship. She leaves anyway, and Brown whisks her away to a club for a night out, but later has a showdown in a dark alley with his lover’s father and his gang.

Brown also stopped by Today to talked his new album and his tumultuous relationship with Rihanna, whom he was convicted of assaulting in 2009. “I’ve been humbled by the whole experience,” he said. “From me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is – but most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath and being able to apologize to, you know, Rihanna and be that man that can be who is a man, you know?”

Host Matt Lauer pressed Brown on the issue, noting that Brown’s behavior doesn’t fully indicate a serious change. “I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. For me, it’s just a learning process,” responded Brown. ” You know, I have to just take it one day at a time. I can’t make everybody like me . . . it’s about me being positive.”

As for his relationship with Rihanna, Brown said the two have completely made up. “Yeah, everything’s good, we’re fine,” he said. “I think it’s just me proving myself once again . . . Knowing that what I did was wrong, and never doing it again. So as far as me and [Rihanna] are concerned, she knows my heart, and I know her heart. So I’m not really focused on the negative.”

Despite Brown’s recent media blitz, the public seems to still hold a grudge – according to the New York Daily News, he was booed at a New York Knicks game yesterday at Madison Square Garden.
