Chris Brown apologized for his recent violent outburst backstage at Good Morning America yesterday in a live appearance on BET’s 106 and Park. “I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended,” Brown said.

Though Brown says he was disappointed by his behavior, he insisted that it wasn’t harmful, and that he was just letting off steam. “I didn’t physically hurt anyone,” the singer said. “I just wanted to release the anger inside me.”

Furthermore, Brown maintains that the incident could have been avoided if Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts had avoided asking him questions about the aftermath of being found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Roberts said yesterday that the Rihanna issue was a pre-approved talking point, which Brown denies. Brown claims that the questions took him off guard, and that he felt exploited by the show.
