Childish Gambino Sets Fall Tour With Rae Sremmurd, Vince Staples

UPDATE: Donald Glover is postponing a handful of Childish Gambino tour dates after he reportedly injured his foot during a recent concert in Dallas, Pitchfork reports. Fam Rothstein – who’s part of the creative agency Wolf + Rothstein with Glover and Wolf Taylor – announced the postponement on Twitter, writing, “This is America was tour is postponed, not cancelled. My guy played through the pain, but has to sit some dates out. Back before the year’s over.”
It’s unclear how many shows Glover will have to miss. His next gig was September 26th at the Forum in Inglewood, California. The venue said that tickets for the original show would be honored at the rescheduled date when it is announced.

Childish Gambino has announced a short tour in support of his Awaken, My Love! album. Rae Sremmurd will serve as his supporting act for the first 14 dates, with Vince Staples opening on the final five shows.
Donald Glover’s musical alter ego kicks off the arena jaunt in his native Atlanta on September 6th. The run of shows with Rae Sremmurd, which includes a pair of performances at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, wraps up in Vancouver on September 30th. Staples will join Glover from October 2nd in San Jose, California through October 12th in Nashville.
Awaken, My Love!, Childish Gambino’s third LP, came out in December of 2016. It included the single “Redbone,” which is the biggest hit of Childish Gambino’s career – the track climbed to Number 12 on the Hot 100 and sold over four million units. “Redbone” also won the Best Traditional R&B Performance award at the Grammys in January.
Following the success of Awaken, My Love!, Childish Gambino moved from the rock-focused independent label Glassnote to the major label RCA. Glover also re-released his 2011 mixtape Ep and is set to appear as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which arrives in May.
