Carly Rae Jepsen Shares ‘Emotion’ Release Date, Preps New Single

Carly Rae Jepsen will release her new album Emotion on August 21st via Schoolboy Records/Interscope, and has plans to drop a new single and video for “Run Away With Me” in July.
The LP will be be available for pre-order starting June 23rd and will come with instant downloads of previously released albums cuts, “I Really Like You,” “All That” and “Emotion.” Emotion will be made available in traditional forms, as well as a part of bundles featuring special art prints, T-shirts and more.
Jepsen also plans to celebrate the release of Emotion with an August 21st performance of “Run Away With Me” on The Today Show as part of the NBC morning program’s annual summer concert series.
Emotion follows Jepsen’s 2012 U.S. debut Kiss, which featured the viral smash, “Call Me Maybe.” Jepsen recorded Emotion in Los Angeles, New York and Stockholm, working with a bevy of producers and songwriters from across the musical spectrum. While the LP boasts contributions from proven pop hitmakers like Sia, Shellback (Taylor Swift, Maroon 5) and Greg Kurstin (Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry), it also features rising stars like Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Madonna), Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Blood Orange mastermind Devonté Hynes.
While Emotion has yet to spawn a hit as ubiquitous as “Call Me Maybe,” the Tom Hanks-starring video for “I Really Like You” has wracked up over 61 million views on YouTube. The singer also drew critical acclaim for “All That,” which she performed on Saturday Night Live with the help of Hynes and Rechtshaid.
