Watch Carly Rae Jepsen Debut ‘Party for One’ on ‘Fallon’

Canadian singer-songwriter set to release new album in 2019

Carly Rae Jepsen debuted her vivacious new single “Party for One” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night. The track is the first single off Jepsen’s forthcoming fourth LP, due next year.

Flanked by a full band and two back-up singers, Jepsen and her crew took the stage in all-black. During the first chorus, a collective hand-clapping to the beat is the sole accompaniment to Jepsen, who belts out the bubbly track’s lyrics celebrating a healthy bit of alone time.

“Party for One” was released last week with a video featuring numerous people hosting their own solo dance parties in hotel rooms. It will appear on Jepsen’s 2019 album, though she has yet to reveal more details on the LP. The project will follow 2015’s Emotion, her most recent full-length. Since then, she debuted a Side B Ep with unreleased songs from the LP’s recording sessions and then a one-off single titled “Cut to the Feeling,” which came out last year.
