Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band are resuming their 2011 American tour this fall – and today they confirmed several cities where they’ll be stopping. “The new dates will extend from coast to coast,” the band said in a statement.  “With stops expected in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Orlando, Dallas, Denver, Vancouver and more.”

As of yet, there’s no word on exact dates or venues. Rolling Stone recently spoke to longtime Silver Bullet saxophonist Alto Reed about the tour. “We did a few dates on the East Coast, but we couldn’t do Madison Square Garden and we didn’t do Philadelphia or Pittsburgh,” he said. “I think there’s a good chance that we’re talking about a fall tour and hitting the markets that we missed.”

Rolling Stone sat down with Seger in April to discuss the tour. “Our biggest problem is that we have too many songs,” he said. “I worked up 36 songs and I can’t fit them all in. But it’s real fun up there. I’m paying the price though. I’ve got a real stiff neck and sore back. Other than that, I’m enjoying it.”

Despite the fun, Seger said he didn’t think there were many more tours in his future. “I can’t do this much longer,” he said. “My manager is 70. We’ve been together for 45 years now and we need to stop pretty soon and turn it over to the Kid Rocks and Eminems. I guess we’re in the final stages here. When I got offstage the other night I said to my security guy, ‘That was surreal. I can’t believe I just did a full-on rock show.’ It’s just surreal.”
