Blake Shelton and NBC are organizing a benefit show to aid tornado victims in Oklahoma. Shelton, a native of the state, made the announcement after last night’s episode of The Voice, according to The Associated Press. Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert paid tribute on the show to the thousands of victims affected by the recent tornados with an acoustic version of Lambert’s “Over You.” Shelton said the fundraiser would take place soon in Oklahoma City.

‘The Voice’ Recap: An Emotional Night for Blake Shelton

Cyclones ripped through Oklahoma earlier this week, and at least 24 people were killed Monday when a powerful twister struck Moore, Oklahoma, with 200 mph winds that touched down for 40 minutes. Reuters reports the tornado also injured 240 people and destroyed entire blocks of the town. Toby Keith, who is also planning a benefit show, has a personal connection of his own: he’s a Moore native, and his sister’s house was hit by a tornado.
