UPDATE: Black Sabbath have announced the final dates of their last North American tour (reflected below), which they’ll follow with a run in South America. In January, they will embark on a final tour of Ireland and the United Kingdom, which will end with two gigs in Birmingham, their hometown, on February 2nd and February 4th.

Black Sabbath will delay the inevitable a little longer, adding a second slate of North American dates to their aptly dubbed final tour, “The End.”

After treks through the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, the pioneering metal outfit will return to the U.S. on August 17th at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York.

The additional 18-date trek will include stops in cities Black Sabbath will miss during their first go-around in January and February, including Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Boston, Dallas, Portland and Oakland. The new leg will also feature a show at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 19th.

Tickets for these shows are set to go on sale October 31st at varying local times. Specific information is available via Live Nation, and a complete list of dates is below.

As with Black Sabbath’s reunion album, 13, and its subsequent tours, the lineup on “The End” tour will consist of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. Prior to recording that LP, the group had a falling out with original drummer Bill Ward. The drummer for Osbourne’s solo outfit, Tommy Clufetos, will continue to fill in for Ward on “The End” dates.
