Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Gets Engaged

It was a big weekend for The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney.
On Saturday, about 24 hours before a triumphant night at the Grammys, the drummer of the blues-rock duo proposed to his girlfriend Emily Ward in L.A., a rep confirms exclusively to UsMagazine.com.
The next night, Carney, 30, and his band mate, singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach, scored Grammies for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package for their album Brothers.

They also picked up the trophy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group for their song “Tighten Up.”

A native of Akron, Ohio, Carney now lives in Nashville, Tenn. He and Auerbach formed the Black Keys back in 2001. In a career high, Brothers, their sixth studio album, debuted at number 3 on the Billboard albums chart last year.
