Billie Eilish unveiled the dark visual for her new single “When the Party’s Over.” The 16-year-old singer-songwriter is currently on a sold out tour of North America.
The video opens with Eilish wearing all white with chains around her neck. She sits at a table in a room that matches her outfit, except for a tall glass of black liquid. Eventually, as the song progresses, she drinks the black liquid. Soon, the black liquid comes out of her eyes like tears, and Eilish begins to rub it all over her face and shirt.
“A bit ago, I was given this beautiful piece of art from a fan that was a drawing of me with black eyes leaking. I thought it was visually really dope and I wanted to physically create it,” Eilish said of the video’s inspiration in a statement. “I called everyone on my team and told them exactly what I had in mind.”
Eilish released her debut EP, Don’t Smile at Me, last August. Her singles “Ocean Eyes” and “Bellyache” have been certified platinum and gold respectively. Earlier this year, she teamed with Khalid for the track “Lovely,” her first track to break into the Billboard Hot 100.
