Big Sean Brings Out Eminem, Lil Wayne at Epic Detroit Show
Big Sean staged a triumphant hometown show Friday night at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena with a marathon set that featured appearances by guests like Lil Wayne, Dej Loaf, Mike Posner and Jhene Aiko. However, the Dark Sky Paradise rapper saved his biggest surprise for the encore as he welcomed some of the Motor City’s greatest – Eminem, Danny Brown, Royce da 5’9,” Trick-Trick and Loaf – to join him on their all-star Shady XV collaboration “Detroit Vs. Everybody.”
As the Detroit Free Press notes, the surprise Slim Shady sighting was a rare occurrence for Eminem, as the reclusive rapper does not usually make onstage cameos. “Detroit vs. Everybody” was released exactly one year and one week ago, and it’s since become an anthem in the city, the newspaper writes.
Big Sean’s homecoming “Finding Paradise” gig, his first in Detroit in over two years, also featured a mini-set by Lil Wayne, who performed his Dark Sky Paradise feature “Deep” and DJ Khaled’s “How Many Times” with Sean, as well as “A Milli” and other solo tracks.
“Detroit, I love you more than anything in the world,” Big Sean told the crowd. “This is the best day of my life. I’m not ready for this to be over.”
