Harlem-born MC Big L was shot and killed in his own neighborhood on
Monday, February 15th at 8:30 p.m. Police heard and responded to
the shots, only to discover L DOA|, having taken several shots to
the head and chest, in front of 45 West 139th Street.
While there are no suspects or motives as of yet, the
investigation is ongoing.
Big L had recently signed with Tommy Boy's Black Label, along
with fellow Diggin' In the Crates members Showbiz, AG, Lord
Finesse, Fat Joe, and OC, to release a DITC full-length album later
in the year.
L had also just started his own, independent record label,
Flamboyant Records, which released his '98 single, "Ebonics,"
through Fat Beats.
