Big Boi Performs Buoyant ‘All Night’ on ‘Fallon’
Big Boi performed “All Night,” a soulful single from his 2017 LP, Boomiverse, on Tuesday’s Tonight Show.
The Outkast member recruited his longtime collaborator Sleepy Brown, along with DJ and trio of backing vocalists, for the song. Big Boi bounced joyfully across the stage, alternating between rapping and singing over the jaunty piano hook and theremin-like tones. The Atlanta emcee closed the track with a dash of silliness, performing some delightful air-keyboard.
Big Boi released “All Night” as a single in July 2017, but the song earned wider exposure from a November 2017 ad campaign for the iPhone X. He released the song’s goofy video in June.
The rapper, who recently opened a run of shows for Lauryn Hill, will serve as special guest on Christina Aguilera’s upcoming North American tour, her first in over 10 years. Big Boi will also appear on Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello upcoming collaborative album, The Atlas Underground, which also includes guest spots from RZA, Killer Mike, Gary Clark Jr., Marcus Mumford, among others.
