Beware of Darkness Sink Hooks Into ‘All Who Remain’ – Premiere

Indie newcomers wrap busy year with follow-up to ‘Howl’

Rising indie rock trio Beware of Darkness unleash the video for “All Who Remain,” the follow-up to their recent radio hit “Howl.” The clip for the new hook-injected single, premiering here, finds frontman Kyle Nicolaides held captive in a dilapidated warehouse with only the comforts of a dirty mattress and a piece of dark chalk that allows him to count the days he has been a prisoner.

“The song is about losing your favorite person on the planet, and all of the mixed feelings and emotions that come with it – anger, confusion, isolation, depression, acceptance,” Nicolaides tells Rolling Stone. “The whole balance to the video and song is that life can be terribly beautiful and annihilating at the same time. There are events and moments in your life that will be tragic, but so unbelievably freeing, and sweet at the same time. And it’s strange and uncomfortable, but it just comes as part of being a human.”

Beware of Darkness are capping off a busy year. Following the May release of their debut album, Orthodox – which was executive produced and mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Nine Inch Nails) – the L.A. band hit the road in the U.S. and Europe, playing alongside Jane’s Addiction at the UPROAR Festival and performing at the U.K.’s historic Reading and Leeds festivals.

The group – also including bassist Daniel Curcio and drummer Tony Cupito – just wrapped a December tour of Christmas radio festivals and headlining club dates. Before they close the lid on 2013, Beware of Darkness will perform one last time, playing alongside Rival Sons at Vinyl Las Vegas this Saturday (December 28th).
