Behind the Scenes of Christina Perri’s ‘Very Merry Perri Christmas’ EP
Christina Perri says the first song she ever sang was a Christmas carol, when she was three, so she’s always known that a holiday project was something she wanted to do. Call it a dream fulfilled: her new EP A Very Merry Perri Christmas finds the Philadelphia singer-songwriter celebrating the season with classics from the Carpenters, Charles Brown, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, plus her very own “Something About December.”
Perri recorded the EP in July, but her heart was already in December. “Family is my favorite thing all year-round anyway, but at the same time, there’s something that happens at Christmas where everything’s just heightened – the giving, the eating, the laughing, the loving,” she says. “It’s where everything is always OK.”
