Beatles Getting Digitized

John, Paul, George and Ringo are about to go digital. On Nov. 14 three original Beatles’ films will hit Digital Video Disc.

The Beatles’ first film, “A Hard Day’s Night,” will be transferred to digital video from a restored print of the original negative. The film will include rare footage as well as an interview with director Richard Lester. 1965’s “Help” will be copied from a color negative and will feature highlighted, previously unseen footage and radio interviews with the Fab Four. The band’s 1967 self-produced “Magical Mystery Tour,” which showcases the band’s “trip” through the countryside will also be worked over. All three movies should be priced under $25.

Look for a new DVD of “The Very Best of the Bee Gees, Live,” also slated for release on Nov. 14.
