Hear Beach House’s Glistening New Song ‘Alien’

Outtake from ‘7’ sessions available on limited edition 7-inch vinyl

Dream-pop purveyors Beach House have unveiled new song, “Alien.” An outtake from their 7 recording sessions, it was previously available on tour only and is now being released as a limited edition B-side to 7 track “Lose Your Smile” on “slime green vinyl”.

In the song’s accompanying video directed by San Charoenchai, a kaleidoscope of black-and-white undulating patterns enhances the hypnotic vibe of “Alien.” “Sorry, sometimes, I get carried away,” Victoria Legrand gauzily sings over glistening melodies. The tune culminates in luscious vocal round-robin layers as Legrand and Alex Scally’s tune crescendos and then abruptly ends.

The Baltimore duo unveiled seventh album, 7 in May. Their new 7-inch vinyl follows the recent release of videos for 7 songs “Drunk in L.A.” and “Black Car.” Beach House will wrap the European leg of their tour next month. In February and March they embark on a string of dates in Australia.
