Battles Ready ‘Techno Thrum’ of New LP ‘La Di Da Di’
Battles will return this September with La Di Da Di, the experimental rock trio’s first album in four years. The 12-track LP, the follow-up to 2011’s Gloss Drop, will arrive via Warp Records on September 18th. “It feels good to say that, it’s been a while. Thank you for waiting,” the band wrote after announcing their new album. The trio describe La Di Da Di as “a mushrooming monolith of repetition. Here is an organic techno thrum of nearly infinite loops that refuse to remain consistent.”
Battles features former Helmet drummer John Stanier alongside guitarist/keyboardist Ian Williams and guitarist/bassist Dave Konopka. The band will hit the road in support of their new album with a North American trek that kicks off September 10th at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Hopscotch Festival. La Di Da Di is available now to pre-order digitally, vinyl or CD through the band’s official site; preorder and ticket bundles are also being offered.
