This November, Band of Horses frontman Ben Bridwell will embark on a small solo tour under the goofy moniker Birdsmell. The American trek, his first as a solo performer, will feature eight dates in the South.

Bridwell’s sets will feature reworked versions of Band of Horses songs as well as solo tracks recorded as Birdsmell (available exclusively on seven-inch vinyl at his shows). Check out the Birdsmell Soundcloud page to stream those new tracks.

Bridwell says the solo project began in 2008, when he recorded a version of George Harrison’s “Your Love Is Forever.”

“A few years later, I enlisted those same musicians to record some songs of mine that had been sitting around for far too long, some of which could be said to be uncomfortably silly and devoid of all reasonable taste,” Bridwell says in a press release. “I wasn’t exactly in a rush to get them out to the discerning earholes of the public. Regardless, this project was pure enjoyment for me, and it was nice to not give a damn about anything but having fun recording these songs.”

The Birdsmell tour kicks off on November 2nd in Carborro, North Carolina. Check out the full tour itinerary below:
