Arcade Fire Score Spike Jonze’s New Film ‘Her’
Arcade Fire‘s big year just got bigger: the Canadian art-rockers will drop their next album – which might be called Reflektor – on October 29th and they’ll also be contributing the score to Spike Jonze’s new film, Her.
The movie’s new trailer, which arrived today, flashes credits at the end that include “Music By Arcade Fire” (though the clip itself doesn’t actually feature music from the band, opting for some Yeah Yeah Yeahs, among other acts, instead). Jonze has worked with Win Butler and Co. before, directing Arcade Fire’s 2011 short film Scenes From The Suburbs. The trailer for Jonze’s last movie, 2009’s film adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are, memorably featured Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up.”

Jonze’s sci-fi romance stars Joaquin Phoenix as a man who “buys the world’s first artificially intelligent operating system,” Jonze told Indiewire’s Playlist. The protagonist then falls in love with the A.I., who is voiced by Scarlett Johansson. Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde also star in Her, out November 20th.
