Arcade Fire Book Miami and L.A. Shows, Join Bridge School Benefit
As rumors percolate that Arcade Fire are planning secret shows in Brooklyn this week in conjunction with the CMJ Music Marathon, the band has confirmed two performances elsewhere. Arcade Fire will perform as “the Reflektors” October 24th in Miami at Little Haiti Cultural Center, according to Arcade Fire Tube. Tickets will go on sale October 16th at 10 a.m. EST here. The band will also play Neil Young‘s Bridge School Benefit on October 26th, joining a lineup that includes Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Tom Waits, Queens of the Stone Age, Jack Johnson and Elvis Costello.

Arcade Fire previously performed as the Reflektors for a last-minute show in Montreal in September, on the same day the band released the single “Reflektor,” which is also the name of the Canadian band’s forthcoming album. The song is an seven-and-a-half-minute jam featuring vocals from David Bowie and production from former LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy.
It’s been a busy few weeks for the band. In addition to releasing “Reflektor” after a graffiti campaign to amp up buzz, the group performed on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live and last weekend teased a new song, “Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice).”
Singer Win Butler recently told Rolling Stone how a trip he and wife Régine Chassagne took to Haiti influenced the sound of Reflektor, which the band recorded in New York, Montreal, Louisiana and Jamaica. “I was opened up to a new influence,” Butler said of the music he heard in Haiti. “Bob Marley probably felt the same way when he heard Curtis Mayfield.”
The album is due out October 29th on Merge.
UPDATE: Arcade Fire have added a show in Los Angeles for October 29th to coincide with the release of Reflektor.
