Adele’s Toddler Son Wins Damages From Paparazzi Photos

Adele’s infant son Angelo Adkins has been awarded a five-figure damage settlement from photo agency Corbis Images UK after paparazzi took photos of the child’s “milestone moments.” Adele’s lawyer, Jenny Afia, stated on Wednesday that her Grammy-winning client accepts life in the public eye but won’t let Angelo become “public property,” The Associated Press reports.

“It is a matter of profound sadness that many of his milestone moments, such as his first family outing and his first trip to playgroup, were photographed and published worldwide expressly against his family’s wishes,” Afia said. The settlement stipulates that Corbis Images UK won’t use the photos again; monetary damages will be held in a trust fund for Angelo, who will turn two this October.
Meanwhile, rumors have been swirling about Adele’s long-awaited third studio album, which fans are hoping will be released this year. Back in May, the singer tweeted “Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year,” fueling speculation that her next LP might be titled “25” (following her first two age-themed releases, 2008’s 19 and 2011’s 21).
As Billboard reports, the World Music Awards Twitter recently re-started the rumor mill, sending out the following, now-deleted tweet on July 15th: “#adele confirms 2015 Tour After The Release Of Her New Album ’25’!”
Martin Mills, chairman of Beggars Group, the parent company of Adele’s record label XL, told Billboard there’s “no truth” to the tweet. The singer has distanced herself from all the speculation and has yet to make any official announcement about an album or tour.
