Adam Levine is further developing his relationship with NBC beyond his role as a judge on the hit singing competition The Voice. The Maroon 5 frontman has signed on as an executive producer for a new ensemble sitcom being developed by the network with 20th Century Fox TV. The show, which would be set at a karaoke bar, promises to blend comedy with vocal performances. (Cheers meets Glee? Maybe.)

So far, the as-yet-untitled sitcom has only received a script commitment from NBC, but prospects for the show look good given that at least three other networks were interested in taking on the project. It may be too early to speculate on casting, but there is no word as to whether Levine would star in the series. Jake Kasdan, the director of Bad Teacher and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, is attached as an executive producer and director.
