Janis Joplin fans hoping to hear Broadway renditions of the blues-rock belter’s biggest hits – as well as a “lost” Joplin tune – in a more intimate theater will have to wait. Producers of A Night With Janis Joplin, which opened in October, are indefinitely delaying its off-Broadway opening due to “production issues,” according to The Associated Press. The musical was supposed to re-open in the Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood Thursday. The producers are offering ticket refunds.

The show stars Mary Bridget Davies as the rock icon and presents what its website calls a “musical journey celebrating Janis and her influences.” It includes hits like “Down on Me,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Mercedes Benz” and “Me and Bobby McGee,” as well as the upbeat, soul-tinged “I’m Gonna Rock My Way to Heaven,” a song that producer Jerry Ragovoy wrote for Joplin shortly before her death in 1970. The latter track also appeared on the show’s cast album.

One place Joplin is set to turn up this year, however, is on the front of a U.S. postage stamp. When the USPS unveiled a stamp honoring Jimi Hendrix earlier this year, a rep confirmed to Rolling Stone that a Joplin one is due out later this year as part of its Music Icons series. “America has so much in its culture about music and movies and pop culture,” USPS Director of Stamp Services Susan McGowan said. “We would be remiss if we didn’t include those kinds of subjects and topics in our stamp program. Movies, music, et cetera, is what the American public likes.”
