![Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse operator Derick Almena seen in two police mugshots after being arrested and charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. The deadly fire at an organized party in the art commune known as the 'Ghost Ship' killed 36 people on December 2, 2016. Almena, 47, ran the warehouse in Oakland, California, subletting it to tenants while also holding regular party events. The father-of-three was arrested in Upper Lake, California on Monday June 5 and then transferred to Santa Rita jail in Dublin, California, later that day. He will be arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court on Thursday June 8. Max Harris, 27, a warehouse tenant , was also charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter and prosecutors believe he planned the doomed party and in his preparation blocked off two exits from the second floor leaving the only escape route as a makeshift staircase made of wood pallets. Almena's bail was set at $1m. Seen here is his initial mugshot in Lake County, California and his second booking photo taken after he was transferred to Santa Rita jail. 05 Jun 2017 Pictured: Derick Almena in his Lake County Sheriff booking photo after being charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the Oakland Ghost Ship fire on Dec 2.
