The theme of this year's annual Met Gala was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," in honor of the Costume Institute's latest exhibit of the same name. That seemed to inspire designers and their muses to wear a lot of metallic. Or to cinch themselves into dresses that looked painful to wear and could possibly cut you if you got too close. Along with movie stars and celebrities, many noteworthy musicians – including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj – were seen on the red carpet and after showing off their sparkly duds, they enjoyed entertainment provided by the Weeknd, who sang "The Hills, and was joined onstage by Nas, who performed a rendition of his 2015 hit, "Tell Your Friends." Here, check out some of our favorite looks seen on the first Monday in May.
