Troye Sivan has catapulted from YouTube fame to genuine pop stardom in recent years at lightning speed. The 20-year-old Australian just released his debut album, Blue Neighborhood, in December and has seen his single "Youth" climb the charts internationally. Sivan let Rolling Stone take a glimpse at his day as he prepared for a show in Los Angeles and described his day in his own words.
"Hanging with one of my favorite radio DJ's in the U.S., JoJo!"
"Halsey is always coming in and signing walls and stuff at radio stations with, like, this masterpiece drawing of her face. And I come in and print/write my name the same way I have since I was six."
"Always so good to catch up with JoJo."
"Very scary radio performance."
"Biggest legend I know. Dad helping out and keeping me company on the road. Don't know what I'd do without him!"
"Waiting on my UberX."
"Official tour poster!"
"We sell signed vinyl at the shows every night. My penmanship is shameful, but that's OK."
"My brooding artist pic."
"Soundcheck at the venue. Chances are we're doing a country/reggae version of one of my songs and having a good laugh."
"[My fans are] the loves of m'goddamn life."
"My brother texted me this photo. He was in a dollar store in Melbourne and found a knock-off Harry Potter costume with a photo of me when I was, like, 13 photoshopped onto Harry Potter's body. All perks of the job!"
"Minutes to go! Putting my in-ears in is normally when I get that first real rush of butterflies."
"Someone told me that Bon Jovi does a workout right before he goes onstage, so now I like to do a solid nine push-ups before every show."
"I'm so in love with the people I have the privilege of working with every day."
"Crazy town. Photos like these are almost borderline strange for me to look at. I'd kill to show this to a younger version of myself."
"Heck yeah, Betty Who!"
"I'm so heart eyes over this. Luckiest kid alive."
