George Strait’s Texas-Sized Farewell: Photos From His Final Tour Stop

The King of Country is joined by Sheryl Crow, Eric Church and more as he performs the last show of his touring career

George Strait, the undisputed King of Country Music, played the final show of his touring career Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The emotional event set the record for the largest indoor concert ever in North America, with 104,793 fans in attendance. (The Rolling Stones' 1981 show at the Louisiana Superdome held the previous record at 87,500.) Several of Strait's famous friends joined him onstage for duets, including Sheryl Crow, Eric Church and Jason Aldean, making for an incredible night of hit after hit from Strait's incomparable country catalog.

Final Farewell

Though he is retiring from touring, the King will continue his rein on the country airwaves. He has extended his recording contract with longtime label home, MCA Nashville, for five more albums.
