On working with Nigel Godrich for new album

Here We Go Magic

Steve Keros

Nigel Godrich: "I am a big fan of this band. They work very hard. They are very talented individually and collectively. I was turned on to them by Thom Yorke while we were sharing a tipi at Glastonbury and were awoken by their opening set at the park stage. He dragged me along to see them, bleary-eyed and hungover. They gave an amazing performance for breakfast." (Pictured: Singer-songwriter Luke Temple [background] and guitarist Michael Bloch [foreground] in London)

Nigel Godrich

Nigel Godrich: "I saw some more shows that summer and I was inspired to try and capture what I had seen, something I found very powerful and unusual. They were up for it. What happened after that is a bit of a delicious blur. Ultimately it came out being something else than originally intended. Nothing is ever as simple as its conception, and this project was no exception." (Pictured: producer Nigel Godrich recording Here We Go Magic in Los Angeles)

Lean On Me

Luke Temple: "They were playing 'Lean On Me' over and over and over again, and every time Mike would sing more passionately. This was right at the beginning." (Pictured: guitarist Michael Bloch in Los Angeles)
