Swedish indie pop band Miike Snow released their first album in four years, iii, on March 3rd and celebrated their return with an intimate show at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge. The trio — comprised of singer Andrew Wyatt and production duo Bloodshy & Avant — let Rolling Stone take a look at their preparation for the show.
Miike Snow’s LPR gig was the band’s first since they separated in 2012, a year they spent playing festivals across the globe. “This is a nice chance for us to go back and play smaller places,” Wyatt told RS backstage. “Also it’s fewer people to see our mistakes the first night.”
The show not only launched the band’s current return to the road but also gave fans a taste of their more dance-y venture on their third LP. “People have always danced at our shows, but I feel like there’s some true dance music on this record,” Wyatt explains.
