See Zac Brown Band Perform New ‘Someone I Used to Know’ on ‘Fallon’
When Zac Brown Band stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night, they gave everyone in the audience tickets to the next leg of their Down the Rabbit Hole Live Tour. But it wasn’t just a giveaway appearance: the group also debuted their irrepressible new single “Someone I Used to Know.”
Co-written by pop star and Brown’s recent CMT Crossroads collaborator Shawn Mendes, the track, released Friday morning, is the group’s first new single in over a year. With Brown and his bandmates in line across the front of the stage, they work confidently through the song’s somewhat unusual structure, which is brought into clearer perspective when performed live. Its finger-snapping verses are followed by a quiet, singalong chorus and an explosive bridge that veers toward a full-on dance track with fiddler Jimmy De Martini sawing over the top, like a built-in remix break.
Brown and co. recently wrapped up their summer and fall tour schedule, but announced a slate of 15 new shows to their concert itinerary for spring of 2019, beginning in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 1st.
