Watch the Cadillac Three’s London Postcard ‘Graffiti’

Nashville-based power trio films video for new single during sold-out U.K. tour

The Cadillac Three were still wrapping up a U.K. tour when “Graffiti” hit the airwaves in late January, bringing with it a punchy, polished makeover of the band’s swampy country-rock. Before flying back to Nashville, the group took to the backstreets of East London, whose spray-painted walls provided an appropriate backdrop for the song’s new music video.

Directed by British filmmaker Lyle Lindgren, the clip finds Jaren Johnston, Neil Mason and Kelby Ray walking the alleyways of London, riding in the backseat of a hackney carriage and drinking pints at a deserted pub. Meanwhile, we see a masked graffiti artist making his own trip across the city, painting the Cadillac Three’s lyrics onto more than a few surfaces along the way. The result is a video that draws parallells between the song’s tagline — “We’re small-town famous, our names in graffiti,” co-written by Mason in tribute to the bandmates’ early days as rebellious teenagers — and the Cadillac Three’s growing reputation in London, where they’ve become genuine stars.

Weeks after selling out every U.K. date on their Night Life Religion Tour, the Cadillac Three are heading overseas again, this time to perform at the upcoming CMC Rocks QLD festival in Queensland, Australia.
