Watch Old Dominion Close Out 2015 With Live ‘Break Up’

Country newcomers make television debut on ‘The Today Show’ with chart-topping single

It’s been a year of firsts for Old Dominion, who made their national TV debut early this morning on The Today Show

“First show of the year, we went from a van to a bus,” frontman Matt Ramsey told co-host Hoda Kotb, thinking back over a busy 2015 that found the band playing 180 shows. “This year, we’ve seen the crowds grow. The song got popular. It’s been. . .wow.”

The song he was referring to is “Break Up With Him,” a breezy tribute to untying the knot. Released in January — four weeks before the band signed with a major label — the song mounted a steady climb all year long, eventually hitting the Number One slot just before Thanksgiving. It was only appropriate, then, that Old Dominion performed “Break Up With Him” on The Today Show, enjoying one last time in the spotlight before 2015 winds to a close.

The band’s touring schedule picks up on January 14th with a sold-out show at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works.
