Watch Lera Lynn Perform Rumbling ‘What You Done’

Slow-burning accusation is the latest in singer-songwriter’s Live at Resistor Studio series

Lera Lynn continues rolling out new performances from her Live at Resistor Studio video series. This week, she’s releasing a stark, black-and-white clip of “What You Done,” performed alongside guitarist Joshua Grange, bassist Robby Handley and drummer Tommy Perkinson.

Dark and woozily menacing, “What You Done” points its finger at a guilty lover who’s attempting to cover up his own sins. “You can play the part of a golden heart, but you know what you done,” Lynn sings during the first verse, delivering the line with a slow-motion snarl that both soothes and skewers. She keeps her subject on the hot seat without breaking a sweat herself and “What You Done” makes the most of that push-and-pull, never deviating from its deliberate strut. Lynn’s longtime producer and right-hand man Grange provides some impressive guitar work, switching between orchestral sprays of guitar chords and low, rumbling riffs.

Meanwhile, Lynn continues her headlining tour, performing in her adopted hometown of Nashville this weekend before tracing a circle around the mid-Atlantic coast and Midwest.
