Watch Lady Antebellum’s Sweaty ‘You Look Good’ Video

Trio works the stage of a lively, packed Puerto Rican club in new clip

Backed by multiple horn players and a funky rhythm section, Lady Antebellum’s three members head up the house band of a small, sweaty Puerto Rican club in the video for “You Look Good.” Shot on location in San Juan, the clip is the second video attached to the band’s newest single, which will appear on next month’s Heart Break.

Released in January, the kickoff video for “You Look Good” focused on a decade’s worth of home video footage, with lyrics scrolling across the screen in an old-school, camcorder-worthy font. The production value is considerably higher in the newer clip, which finds bandmates Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Lindsey hitting the stage of a Caribbean club. Out in the audience, dresses are twirled, drinks are sipped and would-be lovers exchange meaningful glances. It’s a steamy clip, with director Shane Drake capturing the heated, hazy action with plenty of slow-pans.

Already a Top 10 hit, “You Look Good” follows the example of Golden‘s “Downtown” and 747‘s “Bartender,” two Lady Antebellum singles that kicked off their respective album cycles by stretching the band’s sound to new limits. The heavy presence of horns is a first for the band, whose past hits have rarely embraced R&B so avidly. Talking to Rolling Stone Country earlier this year, Haywood chalked up the new sound to the group’s decision to spend more time together. Lady Antebellum took writing trips to Florida and Los Angeles, diving back into an immersive songwriting process that had been missing from their work in recent years.

“We didn’t know creatively where we were going to land, and none of these songs were written six months ago,” he said. “All we had was a plan of, ‘We need to be together, live together, write together and work together.'”

Heart Break, the trio’s sixth full-length album, arrives June 9th.
