Watch Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina’s Picturesque ‘What Ifs’ Video
Getting lost in the beauty of nature is the tipping point for Kane Brown’s latest music video, for his current single “What Ifs.” The Georgia native parks his truck along the side of a California highway, pops out his earbuds and walks into the wilderness – where he finds duet partner Laura Alaina and, possibly, his destiny.
Directed by P.R. Brown and produced by Steve Lamar, it’s not too hard to imagine getting lost in the landscape of “What Ifs,” which is a star of the video as much as the two singers. Shot at The Inn at Newport Ranch, a resort and cattle ranch built on the site of an old lumber town north of San Francisco, the setting makes for a majestic backdrop as Brown wanders the rock formations along the coast and Alaina makes her way to him through the forest. The sunny skies and wide-open expanses make for the perfect accompaniment to “What Ifs” unbound optimism.
“What Ifs,” written by Brown, Matthew McGinn, and Jordan Schmidt, is the third single off Brown’s self-titled debut LP for RCA Records Nashville, which was released in December 2016 and topped the country charts. The song and video bring together Brown, a breakout star who was nominated for New Vocalist of the Year at April’s Academy of Country Music awards, with his high school friend Alaina, who released Road Less Traveled, her first album in more than five years, last winter.
Brown is currently on the road in support of Jason Aldean’s They Don’t Know Tour, which stops next at Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Thursday, May 18th.
